Flood Control System

Flood Controls Installed

There are a number of different types of valve systems to consider. All of the valve systems use a gate-like devices to prevent sewage in an overloaded main sewer line from backing up into your basement. The valve in an automatic system is the valve that we use for our flood controls. This valve closes as soon as the water begins backing up. Most automatic systems also have an ejector pump that pumps out water on the house side of the valve against the pressure of sewer backwater in the street sewer. In addition to the valves, we will build a 36" or a 48" catch basin (depending on your personal need) which will house a two inch ejector pump that we will install and hook up to the back water valve system. Flood control systems are becoming very commonplace for residential homes in the Chicagoland area and are definitely a good way of preventing the overflow from large storms backing up into your basement.
